This can and should be resolved within a few hours after the fire. A serviced apartment offers regular cleaning, endcleaning and maintenance duties. Additionally, there is ongoing support from the provider that helps make your life easier. You get a mix of support and comfort that enables you to continue your life style, despite the circumstances.

**When should you contact your insurance company? And what do they cover?**
 &nbsp;

After a fire it is important to contact your insurance company as soon as possible, optimally the same day. Quick contact ensures correct documentation and faster help for emergency housing.

Usually it is the home insurance that covers fire damage and expenses of emergency housing. If you don’t have a home insurance, you are liable for the expenses, except if you live in an almen bolig.

In public accommodation, emergency housing is regulated by the The Danish Non-Profit Housing Act, that gives the tenant right to temporary or permanent emergency housing, if the residence is uninhabitable.

**Do you need to arrange emergency housing yourself, and which opportunities do you have?**

If you need to arrange emergency housing yourself is usually dependent on the insurance company, assessor and the extent of the situation. In some cases, your assessor reach out to providers of emergency housing. **Which requirements should emergency housing meet?**

You have the right for your emergency housing living up to certain requirements. The accommodation must have similar quality and facilities, and ideally the same number of rooms as your previous home.
In addition, the temporary housing should, whenever possible, be located in the same area as your original home, so that your daily life is affected as little as possible. All of this is arranged jointly with the housing provider and the insurance company.
